PRIMARY RESULTS: TWEEDLEDEE AND TWEEDLEDUM AGREE TO HAVE A
BATTLE!

To nobody’s surprise, Bill Haslam won the Republican nomination for Governor
of Tennessee on Thursday, and everybody will be surprised if he doesn’t
coast from here to the governorship. Haslam’s victory, I suspect, is largely
attributable to the fact that he had not one but two tea-partiers snapping
at his heels. Between them, they drew almost half the votes. If Ramsey or
Wamp had had the psychological skill to let go of his own ambitions, step
aside, and let the other go one-on-one with Haslam, things might have turned
out differently, but tea-partiers are not known for their psychological
skills. If they ever did take control of the government, I think things
would get chaotic in a hurry…but they’re too crazy to win, even in a crazy
state like Tennessee. And so Haslam, who seems like a cross between Phil
Bredesen and George Bush, is the Republican nominee, and the race is his to
lose.....

BUILDING BRIDGES

....In 2005, Radio Free Nashville went
on the air. I began doing this radio show, and started the blog that records
it. “Another chance for dialogue,” I thought, but for years comments were
sparse, and favorable. I began to feel like I was still just preaching to
the choir. In the last few months, that has changed. Let me tell you, I
have had some dialogues that about made my head spin.

The first ones were not too promising. In response to my post“OBAMA THE
SOCIALIST AND OTHER DELUSIONS”,
“Commieblaster” dropped me a link about how “Obama is more Marxist than
socialist.” Simple, and easy to counter. But then somebody named
“Wouldee” sent me a longer love note that started,

obama is just as confused as you, libtard. You idiots are amazingly ignorant
of reality. bye bye. You sealed the deal for the youngsters’ better
judgment, showing how stupid you marxist-socailist asshats really are on the
LEFT. You will hate what is coming at you for reward….

FOOD FIGHT

When 20 federal agents show up at a farm and
seizefarm products and computers, the first thing most people would think is,
“marijuana.” All too often, these days, it’s a different m-word: milk, and
also, sometimes, meat....

THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES

President Obama gets our truth in strange places award this month for his
comment on Wikileaks’ release of tens of thousands of “secret” documents relating to
the US war on Afghanistan: “these documents don’t reveal any issues that
haven’t already informed our public debate on Afghanistan.”

Unfortunately, that’s where his truth train left the track. Well, not
exactly…he also said the document release “could potentially jeopardize
individuals or operations,” and it could, but not because it released inside
knowledge to the Taliban. The information released by Wikileaks
“jeopardizes” the war effort by revealing its rickety nature, and by
showing the American empire’s naked ass flapping in the Afghan breeze. The
emperor has no clothes.....
